Description:The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for demand forecasting of all ongoing products and promotional materials in order to measurably improve forecast accuracy and demand planning functions. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for developing sound inventory procedures and coordinating all aspects of inventory and receiving, reconciling discrepancies in inventories and recommending solutions regarding found irregularities.
Duties:Develop and maintain inventory demand forecasts and create requisitions of initial purchase and/or reorder quantities for all products and marketing promotional materials. Utilize a variety of inventory best practices to determine economic order quantity and minimize backorders.

Develop a synchronized approach to planning inventory demand by coordinating with the Marketing promotion calendars and Sales opportunity forecasts as well as with the Materials Sourcing Group.

Collaborate with other groups as necessary to facilitate the set up and instructional documents required for promotional kits, marketing inserts, and/or new products with the outsourced party fulfillment houses.

Facilitate the relationship with outsourced fulfillment houses as it relates to new product setup, inventory receiving, and special projects and promotions. Address service issues, coordinate new service requests and approve invoices. Acts as the liaison between external vendors and service providers, internal warehouses and Materials Sourcing Department.

Establish effective inventory management practices for all products and marketing promotional materials, including but not limited to monitoring inventory levels, determining reorder points and minimum balances, and returns inspections guidelines. Balance inventory between warehouses as needed. Coordinate product delivery with the Materials Sourcing Department as needed.

Record inventory receipts from fulfillment houses in QuickBooks. Investigate any differences with the 3rd party fulfillment houses and work with Materials Sourcing and vendors as needed to resolve discrepancies.

Establish proper set up and coding of new products in all systems, including but not limited to CMS, eCMS, Order Resolver and fulfillment houses.

Create and implement procedures and systems, where needed, to assure inventory accuracy and efficient inventory levels.

Evaluate existing processes and systems used to monitor and track inventory. Assist Operations Manager with new system development as needed.

Reconcile physical inventory quantities on hand in all warehouses to QuickBooks financial system quarterly. Coordinate physical inventory counts at least annually with warehouses.

Develop key metrics that effectively analyze inventory related financial information to provide timely, accurate, actionable information. Identify areas of opportunity, concern and/or negative trends with particular focus on inventory turn, measures of overstock, economic order quantities, and cost of backorders.

Qualifications:B.S. or B.A in Business or related field.

4+ years related experience in inventory control or a business environment.

Familiar with demand forecasting.

Strong verbal and written communication.

Strong analytical skills with highly developed quantitative analysis ability.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once while completing quality work on a timely basis.

Experience and comfort working with sensitive & confidential information; excellent ethics and judgment.

Ability to work both independently and with a team.

Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with customers, vendors and co-workers.

Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment.

Expertise with MS Office (Excel intensive).

Experience with QuickBooks and order entry database software preferred.

Advanced knowledge of network and PC operating systems.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to move about, stand for sit during working hours; Ability to bend, stretch, and use arms and hands to grip, move, hold and manipulate materials, products and equipment. Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.

Ability to travel:

Approximately 2 trips per year.

Approximately 6 travel days per year.

Approximately 3% of working time.
