National Curriculum Specialist - Canada

The National Curriculum Specialist is responsible for energetic and dynamic promotional and non-promotional presentations and participation at tradeshows and curriculum caravans, within an assigned territory or as agreed to by the Sales Director. The National Curriculum Specialist travels on sales visits to local schools and districts within their territory to share the benefits of using Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) with administrators, principals, teachers, and curriculum decision makers. The National Curriculum Specialist is responsible for research, customer contact, and presentation of NTL products during tradeshows, curriculum caravans and sales visits.
Duties:Master expertise in processes and content for all HWT curricula, delivered at events and to customers including HWT products.

Conduct curriculum visits to local schools or districts in areas near tradeshows, workshops and/or caravan locations.


Extensive multi-state travel to represent HWT at tradeshows (or tradeshow presentations when available) as determined by the Sales Director. Decisions will be made based on needs of the territory.

Participate in curriculum caravans as needed.

Interact with audience and adjust presentation appropriately, use visual support media effectively, create a climate during presentations in which participants feel safe to learn and contribute and provide support and feedback.

Network with and build strong relationships with school district personnel who attend tradeshows, presentations and workshops.

Onsite setup and teardown for trade show, caravans, and presentations and maintain records of key contacts and material distributed and sold during the event.

Actively participate in demonstrating products to interested people at tradeshows, presentations and caravans.

Capture customer feedback and interests reported at events; record in ACT, and provide feedback to appropriate HWT staff.

Provide feedback to HWT marketing and sales staff on materials to ensure that they are current and accurate.

Embrace and follow HWT sales philosophy and strategy.

Complete required administrative work related to expense submissions and execution.
Qualifications:B.A. or B.S. in education or business related field.

4+ years related experience in education industry.

Presentation, training facilitation and adult learning experience.

Knowledge of Handwriting Without Tears materials is preferred.

Knowledge of public school systems.

Compelling and inspiring verbal and written communication skills.


Ability to coach others to enhance their skills.

Ability to inspire and guide customers.

Ability to work independently and effectively in a reporting relationship with an off-site Manager.

Excellent public speaking skills; must be extremely comfortable with and enjoy speaking in front of large and small groups.

Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment.

Expertise with MS Office (Power Point included).

Knowledge of audio visual equipment.

Strong service orientation.

Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends.

Ability to travel:
- Approximately 35 trips per year.
- Approximately 100 travel days per year.
- Approximately 50% of working time.
